Creating a Meditation Space

The perfect way for us humans to connect to our inner selves and make room for some moments of peace is by the creation of a sacred meditation space at home. If you are having a specially designated space for your thoughts can be a meaningful part of the meditation experience, as this will allow our mind, body, and ultimately the spirit to relax.

This space can be a corner of your living room or a room that is rarely used, or even a closet. Here are a few tips for creating the perfect sacred space in your home:

1. Choosing the perfect Space

You will need to make sure that the room or space that you have chosen feels good and comfortable.  Take into consideration the lighting, the quietness, and any activities that happen around the room. You can also take the help of a beautiful room divider, to grab a corner of a living room, it works great. A spacious closet can offer you with some extra privacy and if you are in need fresh air, an outdoor balcony or a covered patio will also get the job done.

2.  Add Furniture

Depending on the space that you chose, consider what furniture you will be needing. You may want to add a room divider, a small shelf, a mat, your favourite blanket, some meditation pillows and few cushions. For some extra privacy and comfort, you can even buy a little tent or hammock to meditate in.

3. Supply your space

Next comes the part to think about the various items that you can include to enhance your practice. If you use items such as candles, beads, and crystals, display them on a tray.
Consider other mindful activities that you can practice in your meditation space, like reading, knitting, yoga, and art in your sacred space so on. Always use baskets and trays to store all the items and materials that you need.

4. Add a Touch of Nature

Getting in touch with your beautiful inner world is all about connecting and maintain harmony with nature as well. If you add an element of nature, your sacred space will become infused with life and harmony.  You can place your favourite plant into a basket, bring in a vase of fresh flowers, or even a small water fountain with sounds of water.
